Safe Home Storage

Children are curious and like to explore their surroundings, especially when they're young! Exploration is natural and great for development, but make sure their environment is always safe and protected.

Overview

+ Safe Storage for substances

All alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, medications, drugs and hazardous household chemicals (including detergent pods) should be stored in their original packaging and in a locked cabinet, out of sight and out of reach of children.

Safely dispose of and properly secure all tobacco and marijuana products, joint or cigarette butts and liquid nicotine/THC cartridges.

In the event of accidental ingestion of any substance or hazardous chemical contact poison control immediately (1-800-222-1222) or call 911.

+ Safe storage for hazards

All firearms, weapons, dangerous tools and sharp objects should be locked up and/or stored out of the reach of children. Keep choking hazards out of reach of babies and ensure other safety measures are in place (first aid supplies, fire plans and extinguishers, etc.). Teach your children about general safety and things to avoid.
